Bought the transported exterior stiff drive to back up my aperture photo library on my mac pro. The reason i wanted a transported hdd was to keep a back up of my photo library off-site via doing a back up once a week.mounting to a mac running os x 10.5.8 (leopard) was no problem following this the drive was immediately detected following this shown as toshiba. The box states Toshiba 640 GB HDDR640E04XR cooperative with os x 10.4 following this windows xp/vista following this will presumably work with a windows 7 following this a linux os. The usb 2.0 interface is fast following this the drive itself does not require exterior power as it comes from the usb interface. The usb 2.0 cable is included with the hdd, although its short. When accessing the drive for read/write there is a blue led which indicates activity. The nice thing is that the drive doesn’t seem to gratify hot following this aesthetically is quite appealing in its blue color. Fit following this finish is superb as well.
